We are now back in Utah after a long Long drive back to the homeland. We could of moved to a different part of Alaska but we were just ready to come home.... its like when you go on vacation and no matter how beautiful it is or how much fun your having there just comes a time when your ready to go home and so here we are back to square one haha We are glad to be back and look forward to seeing everyone soon!

Hoonah

If there was a heaven on this earth it would be called Hoonah. We live in a Plant Earth Episode. Hoonah is by far the most beautiful place I have ever been to. Its beyond explanation. We arrived in Hoonah at 11:30 Sunday morning and I was so nervous as we got closer and closer because its one thing to have a dream of moving to a remote location and living this far out adventurous life but the anxiety of the ferry crawling closer and closer to this piece of land poking up from the ocean floor all the while your whole life is right next to you and what is left over is down on the cargo deck and it kind of gives you this feeling of adrenaline/fear/anxiety/hope/excitement but all that comes out is “holy shit” and then we got here…… We have three and a half miles of roads needless to say we won’t be buying gas anytime soon. We live in our childhood dream treehouse. Seriously…. It has a ladder and everything. It’s a brand new cabin and it is so beautiful. But my favorite part by far is the porch. You wouldn’t believe the view if I told you and the picture I’m going to put up here won’t do it justice. Hoonah is very small and a lot of the houses remind me of something I’ve seen on the news after a natural disaster. The people here are so nice. I walked to the post office and people literally stop there cars and pull over to ask me who I am. Everybody knows that we are new to town and everybody knows everybody. There isn’t much on the island there is a Market and a Hardware store there is two restaurants a laundry mat and a post office and a little airport down by the boats. Although its small we really have been able to find everything we need. Aron has to go to Kodiak Island for training for a week and he leaves tomorrow. Needless to say I am not looking forward to being home alone. We really really like Hoonah so far and I think we will like it even more when we get into the swing of things and get all settled in.
Sorry its taken me so long to post there isn’t a lot of internet activity around here. Until next time……
<img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 400px; FLOAT: left; It is 37 degrees here in Juneau and very humid. It feels like we are on a different continent its hard to believe we are in the same state. We started our move on the 27th, we drove to Haines where we stayed in an old but clean motel. We ate at a restaurant right on the water okay thats not exactly true we walked to the restaurant Aron went inside and got a menu and I stayed outside with the dog because heaven for bid Hatch has to stay by himself for ten minutes haha so we got take out Fish and Chips and holy comoley it was so freaking good! Hatch did really good on the drive. Aron made a little spot for him in the back seat of my car in the middle and he loves it but he has a hard time sitting by himself. He always has to be touching me. Sometimes its his paw on my head or his head on my shoulder. We got on the ferry this morning which was pretty interesting its amazing how many vehicles they can put on the boat. I had a really hard time leaving Hatch in the car. You have to leave your pets on the car deck and you aren't allowed to go on the car deck when the boat is going which is a really stupid rule if you ask me but Hatch did really good and I felt so bad for having to make him stay down there so on the ferry they had little packets of peanut butter so I took some and gave them to him. The ferry was pretty good sized there was a cafeteria, a solarium, a little theater room, and an observatory. Aron is constantly talking about his dad and how he can build just about anything and when we got on the main deck Aron looked at me and said "my dad helped built this boat" and of course I was like okay right sure he did but then he showed me this builders plack and sure enough the damn boat was built right in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin apparently PBI built two ferry's what were the chances of us getting on one of them I couldn't believe it actually I could because if there is anyone I know who could build that big of a ship it would be my father in law so Aron called him and apparently he was 19 years old and put in the windows. So we thought that was pretty cool. We will be in Juneau until Sunday and then we are off to our new home in Hoonah. Aron has to go down to the cop shop tomorrow to fill out a bunch of paper work and then I have no idea whats on the agenda we are staying at a really nice hotel its hard to believe they allow pets here but apparently they do and I am terrified that Hatch is going to break something but so far every hotel has had two queen size beds and we secretly lay out his blanket on the other bed and let him sleep on it haha it is so freaking cute he sprawls out with his legs stretched out fully and he snores and we just think it is the funniest thing so before you sleep on your next hotel bed just think of how many dogs have slept on it as well haha until next time.....

Peace Out Willow

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/get_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"width="320" height="266" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"flashvars="flvurl=http://v2.nonxt5.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?id%3D230a91af4e142551%26itag%3D5%26app%3Dblogger%26ip%3D0.0.0.0%26ipbits%3D0%26expire%3D1331203720%26sparams%3Did,itag,ip,ipbits,expire%26signature%3D7CF01FE134653710D0160E05CAA9714BCB508C6A.55EED0FBD06FB26D103557927C6127CC0E5F1DED%26key%3Dck1&iurl=http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServer2?app%3Dblogger%26contentid%3D230a91af4e142551%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw160%26sigh%3DvNmOffwhPNgsJ87DlbIdGt09EXo&autoplay=0&ps=blogger"allowFullScreen="true" />

so here we sit once again with no furniture on the hard wood floor in our empty house with everything we own half ass organized puzzled together in our vehicles..... moving is SO fun. haha today is our last day in Willow. Tomorrow we will be on the road that is covered in sheets of ice back to the wonderful land of Canada but lil does Canada know that I have already filled out all the correct forms got all the right certificates and have my travel coffee mug prepared jokes on Canada this time....... We will be traveling to Tok Alaska tomorrow it should be a six hour drive however we will have to see how road conditions are. Aron got a phone call this morning saying that his background check has cleared and we now officially have the job.... you have no idea how stress relieving that was seeing how we quit our jobs days ago, already paid for our hotels and ferry rides, and have everything we own stuffed in the vehicles ready to move there haha I went to the post office today to cancel our P.O. Box and when the lady asked me where we would be forwarding our mail to I told her Hoonah and she stopped writing looked up at me and said "huh nobody ever moves to Hoonah" thanks lady. He is pretty much the coolest dog ever and we just love loVE LOVE him... when Aron goes to work me and hatch practice tricks and he is doing so good. He can sit, stay, shake, and lay down! It is so fun to teach him and watch him learn. Next I'm going to teach him "a little to the left" because I think it would be so so hilarious and I'm also going to teach him to "show your teeth" haha ........ well I am done with work now for the rest of my life... my career is now over and I am now a stay at home wife ha guess we will see how long that lasts. Aron's last day is tomorrow and then its time to pack and head off to Hoonah!

Hatch loves my clothes.... type='text'>The Transition

Well well here we are again back in transition mode AGAIN.... as Aron says "transition mode sucks!" I've decided why we move so much ...... its because I haven't bought enough stuff... all of our belongings still fit in our two vehicles this is a problem I have decided so when I find a place I don't want to move from I'm just going to start buying stuff then we won't be able to just pack up and move on the fly ha we have no food in our house..... okay thats not true but all we have left is meh food and for those of you who don't know what meh food is it is the food that when you ask your husband what he wants for dinner and you tell him everything you have and he just says "meh" ya know like meh I'de rather go to bed starving and die then eat that or better yet attempt at cooking something myself ..... why the hell you buy that in the first place.... thats what meh food is and that is what we are eating and as Aron says "transition mode sucks" haha So hatch got sick this week.... it was awful... we went to the vet and got his shots he did really good at the vet however I didn't the vet had the nerve to tell me that I am a bad parent and I spoil my puppy and I don't discipline properly well excuse me sir that my four month old puppy is just that a puppy and gets really excited and barks and runs around oh and my favorite he told me that we hadn't properly socialized him um... excuse me socialize.... obviously this vet doesn't understand that we live in Willow me and aron aren't even social how the hell we suppose to get the dog to be geez and the fact that were moving to a native village on an island isn't exactly going to help the socialization factor what an idiot and my favorite thing at the end of our visit he tried to sell me puppy training classes so in all reality I'm not a bad parent yes I do spoil hatch but all he was really trying to do was make extra cash with training classes. Like the 150 bucks I had to pay him for our 45 minute visit wasn't enough I didn't even want to take him to the vet in the first place but freaking Canada has to have papers for my dog to ride on there road system for fourteen hours so we will just add this to the list of reasons why I hate Canada..... oh and PS hatch didn't get sick until after the vet hhhmm... thats interesting We will be done with work on Friday which will give us the weekend to load up the vehicles and be on the road by tuesday or wednesday and if all goes as planned we will arrive in Hoonah on the 31st luckily for us I have a friend who has a friend who lives in Hoonah and they just happen to have a small cabin for rent so that is where we will be living for the next who the heck knows long......

Hoonah Bound

You know those people you see in really random places doing really random things but its usually really cool random places and really cool random things and you just kind of ask yourself... who lives like that? well WE DO!! Were moving to HOONAH! We are gonna roam with the Natives, eat the best sea food in the sea, watch all the whales, learn how to sea kayak, become friends with the bears ( there is a ton of bears), mountain bike all around the village, order our necessities through bush orders, and live the village life in the rain forest in Hoonah.
We are leaving our cabin on the 27th driving back through Canada (AH) to Haines, AK getting on a ferry to Juneau, AK hanging out in Juneau for 2 days then getting on a ferry to Hoonah so if the plan goes as follows we should be there on January 31st. Hoonah has 180 miles of roads most of which are logging roads there is one place to eat two bars a post office and uh..... thats all I know at this time...... We haven't found a place to live yet...... but if we did have a place lined up that wouldn't really be us haha this is the third time we have loaded up everything we own without a destination however the first time we have moved by ferry.... We are really bummed to leave Willow. We really really like it here but ya never know one day we might end up back here. We have so much stuff we have to get done in the next couple of weeks...... Other then our big exciting news about the job we are doing pretty good. Life seems to keep going faster and faster. Hatch is huge I know we keep saying that but he just keeps growing and growing. Me and Hatch have a date today we are going to go to the vet to get shots and some paper work to get through Canada then we are gonna visit Aron at work. Hatch has really become part of our lil family. He is such a riot and his lil personality just keeps growing and growing. Aron thinks Hatch needs a friend.... I'm not sure if he means a puppy friend or a baby friend....... hhhhmmmm.... don't get your hope up to high dad.... until next time...

2010

Not much to update about but I get so much crap from everyone when I don't write on here so I thought I better..... A couple new things I guess... Aron has a job interview tomorrow for a State Trooper Tech position in Honnah I have no idea how to pronounce it but I do know that 900 people live there. It is an island off of Jeauno which means we would have to move but who knows the grass may be greener on the other side.... I got a promotion at work I am now the Tech Lead which is really fun I like the fact that I run a snowboard/ski shop and three guys work under me its really fun and we have a blast for the most part I mean its still work but its a pretty chill atmosphere and at least I'm making more money. Hatch has turned into hell on wheels and for some unknown reason he has set an internal clock to wake up every morning at 5 AM and its not a pleasant hey everybody im awake its more like a I'm gonna run around and leap and bark in your sleeping face until you decided to wake up and play with me and Aron is so far from a morning person and he is half awake yelling at hatch how he needs his sleep and he can't possibly wake up right now and play with him and when hatch continues to freak out and yelp Aron then turns to the threat of all threats and proceeds to tell hatch if he doesn't stop he is going to make some nice puppy slippers out of him and then I get pissed off because I hate that the dog is barking and Aron is threatening to kill him so I get up play with hatch downstairs for a half hour then we all go back to bed for a few hours and that is how we start every single day of our lives haha..... I've also decided to join every other overweight person in America and set the new years resolution to get in shape so since the day after Christmas I have been diligent to Jillian Michaels and her 30 day shred! which really should be called let me kick your ass for a half hour and then watch you die in a pool of your own sweat. haha ..... have I mentioned yet that we haven't had water for a week now haha apparently are psychotic drug dealer waste of a life living on our damn tax money neighbors think it is totally acceptable to flush foreign objects down the toilet so they don't have to pay for trash service (some people are so freakin unbelievable!!!) so we need to pump the septic tank which really isn't that big of deal that is if we knew where the damn thing was! So Aron has been searching for it... the owner of the property has no idea where it is... the previous owner who put it in is now 85 years old and doesn't even know what day of the week it is let alone where he buried a septic tank years ago is..... oh and in Alaska the only permit you have to get on property is a driveway permit after that your free to do whatever you want on your land.... you can build anything.... install anything.... so its not like we can go down to the court house and figure out by some sort of record where it is.... by the way there is no court house..... so poor little Aron has spent hours mostly in the dark seeing how we only have about 5 hours of light right now searching for it with a weed burning torch a bottle of propane a piece of rebar and a post hole driver and a shovel and he is doing this in negative 15 degrees our landlords went to Michigan for the holidays and should be back later this week but until then we will keep searching tonight my job is to hold the torch..... wish us luck! So I know I started this blog saying not much to update I guess there was more then I thought..... hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying the new year!

Happy Holidays!

Hatcharooko!

Hatch is such a mamas boy

Christmas Day by the fire

Doesn't he look like he belongs here

Bright and early Christmas morning! Aron was so SO excited to be awake!

So I thought I better update because we haven't for awhile.... Happy Holidays! We had an awesome Christmas and were very very spoiled. We stayed home and had a fun day together! We had a big fire outside and cooked hot dogs haha it was a hell of a Christmas meal! We recieved so many packages full of treats and goodies! Things are going good here we are starting to settle in a little bit more and fixing things up how we want them. The job search is a rollercoaster one day we want to find one the next day we are fine with where we are at and the next day we are making plans to ditch our current circumstances and head out into the bush haha so I guess we will just see what happens. We are pretty excited for New Years we are BBQing and we have decided to celebrate New Years with Utah since we spent most of the year in Utah so at ten o clock we will celebrate! Hatch is HUGE! He is such a handful and so free spirited and he loves air pop popcorn haha it is the funniest thing we give him one piece at a time and he eats it like an old man and we just laugh our heads off and that is pretty much our entertainment haha!

Mc WHAT???

Most people are content living inside the box, playing by all the rules, and overall fulfilling the role of there lives however we have discovered that we are definitely not most people we live life on the edge not standing on the edge of course that would be stupid rather we hang by our fingertips to the point where we might slip however we would rather take the chance of falling then not knowing the feeling of hanging there at all….. I’ve added a few words to my vocabulary this week such as village, pedal bike, water hauler, wood stoker, basket weaver and land locked. I’ve also taken a few words out of my vocabulary such as vehicle, take out, white folk, technology, and civilization. By the way did I mention that my husband interviewed for a job in McGrath….. you might be thinking McGrath…. McGrath…… where have I heard of that well you haven’t and don’t bother googling it because you will get nothing….nodda…. zilch! I spent countless nights praying for the phone to ring…. And then it did….. and I’ve now learned the life lesson …. If your going to take the time to pray for the phone to ring you should also take the time to pray for the specific person you would like to call. Haha no we really are SO SO excited just for the opportunity to interview and the possibility of getting a job. Living in a village would be so adventurous not to mention extremely intense oh and did I mention that one of Aron’s responsibilities would be to make the Native’s aware of wildlife laws and regulations and hold them accountable if they break any of the laws and regulations….. for those of you who aren’t familiar with Natives this isn’t a trophy hunt this is there livelihood hhhhmmmmmm….. the villagers our gonna love us…. Looks like I got a real John Smith on my hands but I’ll tell you what that damn Pocahontas better watch out……….

zero degrees and eight miles

We went on a hike today. We both had the day off so we spent the morning down at the Trading Post drinkin coffee hanging out with the old timers talking about prospecting gold..... I'm pretty sure thats how we will spend most of our summer.... anyway then we went on a hike up Hatcher Pass. We had a lot of fun! Hatch did pretty good for about 15 steps and then he was cold and ready to be carried so Ar carried him in his coat via kangaroo style haha its was pretty freaking cute though. We saw three dog sled teams on the trail. It was so awesome! We had such a fun day today! Probably my favorite day in Alaska thus far.....
<object width="320" height="266" class="BLOG_video_class" id="BLOG_video-4144be329fd0a4ec" We have also been successfully married for two months! Were broke as a joke however we still have the choice of chicken or beef.... ROMAN that is! We are loving married life and I'll love it even more when I can train Aron to stop moving the damn showerhead. haha Aron has applied for a lot of jobs and were crossing our fingers, our toes and would like to invite you all to cross your fingers and toes so that we might get a job soon! We have really been counting our blessings lately..... we've also been counting our toilet paper squares haha but we would like that say thanks again to all of you who made this dream possible for us especially those who have gone above and beyond we are truely grateful for our family and friends and the great support system we have. We love it here in AK. Willow really feels like home and we are really hoping Ar can get a job around this area so we don't have to move. People in Willow are just crazy enough to make us feel like we are still sane. We love the town, the people, and the endless miles of trees, rivers, and lakes that surround us. We love Chip the squirrel that lives under our house. Aron has tried to kill him but he keeps missing haha but we have to kill him because he is eating the installation. Hatch loves Chip because he can hear him through the hard wood floor and he can't figure out what it is but its pretty entertaining to watch. Hatch is doin good. He wants to be apart of whatever is going on which is cute however when I'm trying to take a bath and he's trying to leap over the tub.... not so cute well were just out here in our lil cabin tryin to live our lil dream..... until next time

Greetings from the sticks....

We have been in Alaska now for 3 weeks. Work is going good for both of us. Its not ideal but were getting by. Aron has been applying for biologist positions so hopefully we will land something soon. We have meet some interesting people. It's cool that no matter where you go you can always find good people. We love the town we live in. Willow is definitely one of a kind. Locals warned us if the people don't like us we will find out pretty quick. Take a look around at any local bulletin board at the post office or the trading post there are posters for missing people everywhere and its not because people are crazy and just kill people and hide them in the woods..... well it might be haha but its more like we are a little behind the times and stuff like that is still handled by the people. Actually the crime rate is pretty low here. There is an open carry policy here so everyone has a gun and everyone knows everyone has a gun which is probably one of the main reasons the crime rate is so low. It seems that people here in Alaska are either the craziest people or the smartest people and sometimes its both. It's amazing how many people are here in Alaska to hide out and live the "real" American lifestyle I've never been so educated on current politics, federal tax laws, and what We The People actually have the right to do and don't do..... Work has been a little bit of a struggle lately because we have been working opposite shifts so we haven't really seen a lot of each other lately which sucks for us however Hatch loves it because he never has to be home alone. We some how managed to both get off the same days this week though which has been really fun. Hatch is doing good he is nine weeks old now and he has been so fun and entertaining. He is growing so fast and we have so much fun with him. We went out with some friends today to help them pick out there christmas tree and Hatch had so much fun riding in Aron's backpack. We are very excited for Christmas we have decorated and our cabin is very festive! We finally did it......... we went back and forth should we get a dog? is it the right time? can we afford it? should we just do it? what kind of dog should we get? yes for the 100th time Aron it HAS to be a puppy! well today we took the leap..... I found an add on craigslist for puppies in palmer so I thought what the heck might as well just email they are probably a lot for a choc lab but it won't hurt to try right....... well they were a lot cheaper then I thought they would be.... Aron had to work today so I had the lady meet me and sportsmans warehouse so I could show Aron the puppies and of course he fell in love so I TOOK A PUPPY HOME! ..... and then the adventrue began..... I was so excited I put a blanket down on the front seat, put my brand new puppy down and he laid down and fell asleep..... It was so cute! Five miles down the road he woke up he jumped from the floor back to the seat over on my lap and then leaped over the seat into the back seat in my frantic of trying to get him back into the front seat luckily I hit a red light.... I stopped at the red light took off my seat belt reaching as far as I could trying to grab him my foot slipped off the break so I started rolling once I realized I was rolling I slammed on the break after my struggle I returned our new puppy to the front seat only to look over to the car next to me looking at me like I was some freak of nature talking to myself and jumping into the back seat of my car in a frantic at the red light..... haha and thats how we spent the next 20 miles together.... him trying to leap over my arm into the back seat and me not letting him....... It is so cute to watch him run and slide on the hard wood floor he is so playful and has so much energy.... and we just LOVE him!

UPDATE!

So everybody says Alaska is cold but Alaska is not cold its down right freeze your ass off, don't breath because it hurts, pray your car starts at least one more time. We thought it would be cool to get a outside thermometer so we could see the temp but its completely useless because it only goes to negative 20 and it stays there for most of the day! But were getting use to the cold and still loving Alaska! We both got a job which is SO exciting because now we at least we know were gonna make it......for now....... barelly haha I am working at sports authority in the tech shop and I sell snowboards and ski's and Aron is working at sportsmans warehouse. He starts tomorrow and I'm a little nervous about him working with the public because he can't even walk through a department store with out feeling like he needs to break something because of all the people haha hopefully he will land a biologist job soon :) So we just found out that when you move to Alaska and you get a job you only have ten days to get a Alaska drivers license and supposedly the test is really hard. We called and got a quote for our car insurance and its going to go up 30 bucks a month! 30 bucks! It doesn't sound like a lot of money but that is two jumbo size bags of M&M's and we all know how Ar needs his M&M's. We are really looking forward to the holidays I came home from work last night and Ar had christmas music on and candles lit our cabin is so cozy we love it! We are planning on having Thanksgiving with our landlords/neighbors/new friends. Aron is outside right now installing plug ins on our vehicles because seriously if we don't plug them in they aren't gonna start. Its only November and its already this cold we can't even imagine what the dead of winter is going to be like but we are really excited to get out and play in it!

HOLY SNOW!

This sign is up our road so this is us telling someone where we are going... haha

This is our closet luckily our room is huge we don't have a very big closet so Ar got this long board at lowes and put a bunch of nails in it and WALA I now have a place to put all my hoodies! SNOW! We have discovered when it snows here it doesn't just snow it dumps it snowed a foot today in two hours! Unfortunately for us we went to Wasilla to look for jobs during this time so on the drive home it was really fun trying to stay on the road that the plows couldn't keep up with. The job hunt is going well but everytime one of our phone rings we get really excited like op this could be the call that tells me were gonna make it.... haha but so far no such calls..... We are having a lot of fun exploring and finding new things and meeting new people were just gonna keep pluggin away looking for jobs!

The Bauer Shack

Home sweet home! Well were here we finally made it! We live her in Willow in this cute and cozy cabin we love it and have spent the last few days getting it all set up. We love love LOVE Alaska so far! and I'm sure we will love it even more when we can make some money to pay some bills haha I would put our address on here but we don't have one. We have no idea what it is and neither does our landlord so we just got a P.O. Box so if anybody wants it just let me know and if you need our physical address we live in Willow if ya head up towards hatcher pass your on the right path go pass the railroad track if ya pass the hitchin post sign you've gone to far keep an eye out for the bush planes the bushplane airport is not to far ..... Willow is a pretty cool lil town I've never been anywhere like here we have a post office a gas station, video store, liquor store combo! We have a coffee stand that you can also buy pizza, and shakes at. And we have a library which is hardly ever open hence why we have to sit in our car and steal there WiFi! I'll post some more pictures of our cabin soon!

so for those of you who don't know.... me and aron decided to move to alaska during our trip to yellowstone in july he had been talking to his uncle mark on the phone about alaska when he got off the phone we started talking about alaska and how cool it would be to live there a half hour later we had this crazy plan to go and today that crazy plan came true
not the screws! Tok is not a big town you don't even have to blink to miss it. We are staying in the one and only hotel open in Tok there isn't any restaurants but they do have a grocery store which is where we purchased our dinner tonight. Aron is having a hungry mans dinner and I am having a lean cuisine panini thank goodness our hotel has a microwave! The road was long today we made it 400 miles and it took us 9 hours. The road was the worst it has been the blacktop freezes so much that its buckled the whole way which really throws the trailer around a lot it makes me really nervous when i see the trailer in the mirror and then i don't then it comes back again then its gone again ah! woah! it can be intense! We blew a tire today it took us one hour to change it and when I say us I mean Aron I just gave moral support and took pictures! A couple people passed by and asked if they could give us a hand which was really nice of them but my handy man Aron had it all under control. After close observation Aron came to the conclusion that it was NOT due to the long bolts he used to hold the license plate that caused the tire to blow..... I knew it was gonna be a long day when I spilled my coffee all over my lap this morning and it wasn't just a little bit I have had a full on coffee look a like pee stain all day long thats embarrassing! Our cell phones work now which is exciting but not the most exciting thing of our day.... we were pretty stoked to get out of Canada. All the gas pumps in Canada look like they came straight out of an 80's film they have the numbers that flip nothing is digital and you can't pay at the pump. The parking in Canada is a lot smaller then it is in the U.S. it may not seem like that big of a deal but when you have a truck and a car on a trailer it was a pain to try to park anywhere! But I think our biggest complaint about Canada was the coffee lids everywhere we got coffee they had those cheap plastic dixie lids the kind where you literally have to tear the plastic to open the flap to drink out of and when you do drink out of them they cut your lip who can drink out of those things?! We stopped at the Welcome to Alaska sign I made Aron promise me 3 days ago that we could stop at that sign because I knew that we would just wanna fly by and get to our destination. We are really anxious to get to Palmer we could of kept driving and made it there late tonight however we could of also kept going slid off the road and spent the night huddled up freezing.... I'm glad we decided to stop and this lean cuisine panini is a lot better then you would think I don't know if its because I'm in Tok, Alaska where they have nothing else to offer or it really is that good. We are very excited to get to our new home tomorrow and would like to thank all of you that have helped us get this far in our journey! God bless! (thanks what people say around here haha) they also say "ya know" and "sooo" and "eah" ha! Gotta love it! Until next time....

and that was Wednesday....

This is the only gas station open between Watson Lake and Whitehorse. We drove for 9 hours today and made it 300 miles. The road is snow packed, slippery as snot, and makes us pucker up like no other. Aron does a pretty good job keeping us on the road and straight for the most part and all I do is find a tree ahead and tell myself we just have to make it to that tree and then when we get to that tree I find another tree and tell myself the same thing. We are 900 miles away from Palmer which is about three days drive on the ice road. There aren't many places to stop on the Highway and the places that you can stop at have a gas station and thats it. Gas just seems to get more expensive we paid 100 bucks for a half a tank of gas today and with the gas mileage were getting thats about a dollar a mile. We are literally in the middle of nowhere I've never felt so distant from everything. Aron says we are in BFE haha..... We entered the Yukon Territory today and it seems like the more North we get the further back in time we go and the thicker the accents get! We are staying in a town called Watson Lake tonight. The town is about a 1 kilometer long we ate at a place shit I can't remember what it was called something Jakes but it was a restaurant a gas station and a mechanic shop all in one combo haha it decoration was pictures framed of all the trucks and cars that had rolled or tipped over on the Hwy. We actually saw a truck hooked to a utility trailer rolled over on the side of the road we slowed down to make sure nobody was in there but it seems they had already gotten out and gone for help. We went to the grocery store ( the only store) and the prices of produce almost made me faint! Grapes for 6.00 a pound Bananas 1.79 a pound and they looked like they had been frozen all brown and mushy eeewwww..... canned fruit was 2 for 6.00 for a can of fruit! Aron told me he was never going to complain about prices again after being in this town! haha I hope I can hold him to that! We see more wildlife on the road then cars. The more North we get the fewer people we see. we saw caribou, buffalo, a eagle, a fox, a coyote, and a owl. We are hoping that the weather stays clear so we can keep slowly poking a long..... my funny moment of today.... Aron got out of bed this morning and went to look out the window and before he got to the window I said honey what are you gonna look at you don't even have your glasses on and he said "like I need my glasses to see" and he turned to look out the window and ran right into it! It was so damn funny!! haha

Kenzie & We saw so many things..... we saw snow geese, deer, buffalo, 4 moose (including 2 baby moose) albino cows, a goat and I can't remember what else but there was a lot goin on out there! We almost died leaving our hotel this morning because it rained then in snowed in the night so the roads were very very icy! Make a long story short we were going down a hill aron kept sayin I cant stop I cant stop and I kept saying oh shit oh shit oh shit luckily for us nobody else was on the road and Ar was able to make us survive somehow my eyes were closed so I don't really know what happened but the bright side is I didn't even spill my coffee oh and we didn't crash...... We are now in Fort St. John on the Alaskan/Canadian Hwy. So 11 hours in a truck for me can be a lil rough I don't mind riding in the truck but I get a lil bored so today I spent a lil while trying to convince aron that he should make a music video and let me record it he hasn't agreed to it yet but I'm still working on him haha but for real how many of you would like to see arons music video?! We are still a lil sick.... Ar is more sick then I am and I am convinced its because I take vitamins drink a ton more water and eat less sugar therefore my immune system must just be stronger then his..... haha but were hanging in there. Hopefully if the weather holds out we will get a good long drive in again tomorrow!

Greetings from Camore

Canada oh Canada..... its been interesting..... Canmore is a very cool little town about 10,000 people live here tucked away in the Rockies of Canada. The people are very nice except of course the boarder patrol! We've mostly just chilled out we've walked through town and all the little shops, gone swimming, watched movies, ate at the Grizzley Paw, and taken a lot of pictures. We have mixed feelings about Canada although its beautiful its just a lil differnet then were use to... for example its great that Canada has a free health care system but what most people don't know and what we have discovered first hand is that its not free. You actually pay up the ass for it! You may not get a bill for it but good luck at the grocery store and gas stations! Gas is down right outrageous! It cost 95 cents a liter we filled up a half a tank today and it was 53.50! Food is also expensive your typical applebees/chilis burger is 16.00! But besides the extra expense we have really enjoyed our time in Canada so far. We finally got a calling card so those of you who are expecting a call we will be calling tonight! Me and Ar have both been feeling a lil under the weather like were coming down with something. We've been taking a lot of airborn and vitamin C however canada is a lil behind the times and has no idea what Emergency or Airborn is we asked the pharmacy lady where we could find some Airborn and when she replied Airborn what we were a lil hesitant haha. Everyone we've talked to always brings up the H1N1 but i've watched the news and I've seen how long those lines are! 5 hours in a line for a shot holy hell I think I'de rather take my chances of getting it because standing in a line with the Mr. Aron Bauer for 5 hours I'de rather die. Speaking of Mr. Aron Bauer's patience... we were driving back to the hotel today and got stopped at a four way stop while the Halloween Parade passed by haha I thought he was gonna kill someone and I quote " How in the hell can they expect traffic to stop for this" " This is so rediculous" hahahaha I can't wait to get a picture of him with our kid in five years walking down the road cutting off traffic for the halloween parade! Well we've got to run were going to go out one more time, get some laundry done, and rest up to continue our drive tomorrow!

3000 miles and 1 left turn

On our way finally!!! We've gone 800 miles and are now in Canmore, Alberta which is beautiful (pictures soon to come) We stayed just south of the boarder wednesday night at this hotel we happened to find it was a lil sketchy but of course aron loved it. We woke up eager to get back on the road only to find the boarder 30 miles down the road ah! WARNING! never drive through Canada! First of all everyone that works there treats you like they just discovered you are the biggest drug dealer in the world and they just found 80 pounds of crack in your car! It was terrifying but of course that didn't stop me from taking tons of pictures ( soon to come) so after we talked to America they sent us walking to talk to Canada because they told us if we drive our truck up there chances are they will our guns! But they didn't tell us once we walk up there to talk to them we will be stuck in Canada and have a hell of a time trying to figure out which is the right door to walk back to America and don't even worry that the hallway to get back is like a cattle shoot with high fences on both sides luckily nobody else was in there but us! So we finally made it back to America after I asked this Canadian man how in the hell we get back to America! Canada was cool with our guns for the most part except for one so this American gaurd told us about this bar we could go to because the guy who owns the bar supposedly has some special license to ship guns so we go to this bar and when i say bar i mean crap holes of all crap holes you couldn't buy me drinks to drink there!!! (picture soon the come) however that guy didn't have the license anymore and we couldn't get across the boarder without getting fully searched if we didn't have a receipt saying we shipped this gun luckily the 65 year old strung out lady running the bar knew somebody who knew somebody had this license so she called him for us long story short some chick showed up for this dude a half hour later and everything got worked out... that is until we got back to canada they didn't strip our truck or anything but made us fill out enough paper work that I'm pretty sure our first born child is not legally ours anymore..... Well Aron is getting impatient with me being on this damn computer so were gonna get going next update soon to come..... oh my favorite moment in Canada so far .... Aron asking the cashier if they accept normal money...... hahaha!

Happy October!
